Anti - Ragging Committee
Vision
To build a ragging free environment by instilling the principles of democratic
values, tolerance, empathy, compassion and sensitivity to students to emerge as
responsible citizens
Mission
To create an atmosphere of discipline by spreading a clear message that no act of
ragging is permitted inside college premises and outside the campus.
Objectives:
‣ To prohibit any conduct by any student or students whether by words spoken
or written or by an act which has the effect of teasing, treating or handling
with rudeness a fresher or any other student to cause annoyance, hardship or
psychological harm.
‣ To bring out an awareness among the students about the consequences of
ragging.
‣ To keep a constant eye and vigilance over ragging so as to prevent its
occurrence.
‣ To address any ragging issues immediately and take action as advised by

Women Empowerment Cell
WOMEN EMPOWERMENT CELL
Women empowerment Cell is active in SSM college of Arts and Science since 2022 .Women empowerment Cell is established with the motto of “ Never cut the wings of women, let them fly and spread the fragrance” The cell aims to empower girl students and faculty, enhance their understanding of issues related to women and to make the college campus a safe place for girls and women and to analyze the practical issues related to the welfare and equal opportunities for Women faculty, staff and students.
OBJECTIVES
- To promote a culture of respect and equality for female gender
- To conduct seminar, workshop to impart knowledge of opportunities and tools available and train the women.
- To create a conductive counseling environment for female gender to share their problems.
- Conducting various competitions to encourage their talents for creative thinking
- To highlight the importance of spirituality, health, hygiene and safety
- Celebration of International Women’s Day on March 8th, every year

Grievance & Redressal Cell
Vision
- To create a fair, transparent, and harmonious environment for all students, staff, and faculty members
- To ensure every concern is heard, acknowledged, and resolved promptly.
- To promote justice, equity, and fairness in addressing grievances.
- To foster a positive and supportive atmosphere within the institution.
Mission
- To ensure a quick and effective process for receiving, acknowledging, and resolving grievances.
- To keep individuals informed about the status and resolution of their grievances.
- To provide fair solutions while treating everyone with dignity and respect.
- To identify recurring issues, take preventive measures, and improve policies.
- To create a system where everyone feels supported and included.
Roles and responsibilities:
- To serve as the main body for receiving grievances from students and staff, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
- To keep clear records of grievances and actions taken, ensuring transparency in the redressal process.
- To educate students and staff about the grievance redressal process, policies, and their rights.
- To handle grievances carefully to protect grievance privacy and maintain institutional integrity.

Youth Red Cross (YRC)
Youth Red Cross (YRC) is a voluntary body dedicated to support humanitarian services, particularly in health-related areas. YRC also focuses on training students to develop, leadership skills and enhance their overall personality.

Mission
- To engage and mobilize young people in Red Cross activities,
- To promote humanitarian values, foster a culture of volunteerism, and address critical community needs.
- To nurture leadership and instill a sense of responsibility among students.
Objectives
- Promote Humanitarian Values: Inspire youth to embrace the principles of humanity, impartiality, neutrality, independence, voluntary service, unity, and universality.
- Encourage Volunteering: Offer opportunities for youth to actively participate in Red Cross programs, promoting volunteerism.
- Develop Leadership Skills: Provide training and experiences to build leadership, teamwork, and personal growth.

SC / ST - Welfare Committee

Mission
SC/ST Committee conducts teaching programs to nurture skilled and dedicated professionals for practice and education.
Roles and responsibilities of SC/ST Cell :
- To create the awareness about the various schemes and scholarships among the program of State Govt. and UGC.
- To ensure the students got benefitted and maintain the information about it.
- To update/ensure the required details of the students in the UMIS Portal for various schemes and scholarships.
- To collect reports and information of State Govt. and UGC orders on various aspects of education, employment of SC/ST Students.
- To counsel and guide SC/ ST students and help them to manage academic and personal issues of college life effectively.

Anti - Drug Club
Alcohol, drug, and other substance abuse are becoming an increasing menace in our nation. Studies show that even high school and college students are attracted to liquor, narcotic substances, and tobacco products. The major cause of concern is that a significant proportion of these young people eventually get addicted, posing a threat to their own health and safety while creating untold misery for their families and the public at large. To combat the aforementioned, all educational institutions have Anti-Drug Clubs. This stands for enhancing and strengthening existing student awareness of the negative effects of drugs, as well as achieving various anti-drug campaigns.
Objective:
- To educate and enable youth to reject illicit drugs.
- To ensure that the campus and surroundings are maintained drug free.
To provide training to volunteers to create a drug free society

Anti - Sexual Harassment Cell
Vision
- To create a safe, secure, and inclusive environment, free from sexual harassment and gender-based discrimination.
- To establish a reliable and effective mechanism to eradicate sexual harassment for students and female faculty members.
- To promote gender equality and foster a culture of mutual respect and integrity.
Mission
- To uphold a supportive and harassment-free environment for all.
- To implement policies through transparent reporting and timely redressal procedures.
- To educate and empower individuals about sexual harassment and ways to prevent it through awareness and support.
- To provide an accessible counseling and support services for those in need.
Roles and Responsibilities
- To formulate and implement a comprehensive policy ensuring a harassment – free campus.
- To identify and address the root causes of sexual harassment and gender- based discrimination.
- To educate students and faculty on recognizing, preventing, and responding to harassment.
- To handle complaints with sensitivity, fairness, confidentiality, and prompt resolution.
- To organize awareness programmes, workshops, and campaigns promoting gender sensitization.
- To maintain a proactive approach in preventing gender-based disturbances and fostering inclusivity.

Internal Complaints Committee
Vision
To create a safe, inclusive, and respectful academic environment where every student, faculty member, and staff can thrive without fear of harassment, discrimination, or misconduct. The ICC envisions a college community that upholds dignity, equality, and justice for all, fostering a culture of trust, transparency, and accountability.
Mission
1. Maintain a Safe Campus: To offer a safe, encouraging space devoid of any kind of misbehavior, including sexual harassment and gender-based discrimination.
2. Encourage Awareness: By holding workshops, seminars, and awareness campaigns, we hope to inform staff, instructors, and students about their rights and obligations with regard to harassment and discrimination.
3. Confidential Reporting Mechanism: To create a platform for complaints that is private, open, and unbiased so that everyone can come forward without worrying about reprisals.
4. Fair and Impartial Resolution: To examine complaints completely, fairly, and swiftly in compliance with legal frameworks (e.g., POSH Act in India) and institutional norms.
5. Uphold secrecy and Trust: To preserve complete secrecy throughout the complaint resolution process, safeguarding the privacy and dignity of all parties concerned.
6.Prevent Recurrence: To reduce instances of harassment or discrimination, proactive steps should be taken to address systemic problems and put preventive strategies into place.
7. Encourage a Culture of Respect: To encourage a campus culture that prioritizes inclusivity, diversity, and respect for one another in order to support the overall growth of every college community member.

Counselling Committee
Objectives
⦾ To identify specific needs of the student Community- academic, personal, career related and provide mentoring and counselling. Counselling providing students with guidance on problem-solving techniques and self-assurance to enhance their quality of life.
⦾ Student Counselling Cell aims to help students attain their fullest potential, both academically and personally. Students who need it can receive free individual and group Counselling from the Counselling Cell. The counsellor is available to provide pupils with consolation, psychological advice, and confidence.
⦾ Students that experience difficulties in their personal and academic lives are the ones who gain from the cell. In this cell, they talked about their issues and ideas. The two wings of the counselling cell are external and internal mentors. When these individuals got together, they discussed. These participants got together, discussed the issues the students were facing, and offered advice. Counsellors provide assistance to individuals in need once a week. Referrals to outside mentors are made for problems that cannot be resolved.
⦾ Our college has an MOU in place and is providing counselling services to different groups since we needed a properly qualified psychologist to provide counselling. Some students are receiving help and direction. Following the counselling, the students’ self-esteem increased and they were able to break negative patterns. Thus, it turned out to be a fruitful venture
